Eternal Flame

A short platformer with a unique movement system made over the course of two days for the 2024 Gamerella game jam.

Your are a tech-priestess of Hestia, an eternal flame burning in your chest and cybernetic thrusters vectoring those flames to send you ever higher. Use their warmth and might to relight the hearth atop the snow covered peaks.

Controls: 

• A - D : Side to side movement.

• Tap Spacebar : Short jump.

• Hold spacebar : Hold to charge, release to jump higher.
  • You maintain momentum while charging a jump. It is possible to begin charging a jump, slide off a surface, and then release the jump midair.

• Left-Click : While in the air, left-clicking will propel you (an aerial boost) in the direction opposite of your cursor.
  • You have 2 charges of this aerial boost before needing to recharge (by touching the ground).
    
  • You can boost in all directions based on cursor position.
    
  • The boost will be opposite the cursor, relative to your character sprite. Clicking boost while the cursor is below the character will propel forward, clicking while the cursor is to the left of the character will propel right.
  • Momentum is preserved through the boost, boosts can be "stacked" to achieve greater speeds.

• R : Resets player position to spawn point.
  
  • Currently non-functional.
  • If you are stuck, fall off the map, or otherwise want to restart the game, simply close the game and relaunch it.
